Jasper in Winter<For Jasper Winter Activity Information Click > It is winter time in Jasper. Some snow in town and lots more in the mountains. Days are getting shorter, with sunrise around 8:30 a.m. and setting about 5:00 p.m. Daytime temperatures are generally near 0'C (32'F), but can be 10' degrees cooler and drop even more overnight.Summer activities such as Tramway and Glacier Tours, Rafting and Hot Springs are closed. Downhill skiing is open, but still early season and thin snow cover with many parts of the hill not recommended for skiing. Limited Cross country skiing opportunities available yet. Several lakes have frozen over and skating is quite nice.Bears are hibernating and won't be seen until spring.. Elk and deer are seen in town and have their thick winter coats. Some lakes and rivers are open for fishing. Sheep seen regularly along the highway.Town is moderately busy and everyone is enjoying the seasonal weather.Hope to see you here. For Jasper Winter Activities Information
